My gf hated renewal with a passion but she acquiesced after I bugged her enough to give this server a try. Now she's in love with RO all over again. Though it's a mostly-English speaking server, it seems like most people I party with only know enough English to get by. You'll also run into impatient people quite often but there's definitely small pockets of great communities sprinkled about. You just have to dig a little.

I've only played this server for over 1 and a half month now and I really enjoyed everything that the server offers. Everything is balanced and fair, with WOE being very active as there's around 3 or more guilds playing it as for PVP it's alive but most of the time people only go there to hang out. You might occasionally see people dueling and there might be times where the PVP is active with people killing like what a PVP room is. I used to play on iRO back during release some 15 years ago Its been a little over a month since I started playing RO again. I have tried and played on the top 10 low rate servers, and I have to say, NovaRO seems to be the most satisfying server I've been on that gives the full experience plus a hint of customized goodness. The community is tends to be friendly and the discord is fairly active. As a returning player, I can 100% vouch for NovaRO to be a great place for both new and old player

Played NovaRO Since 2015. PVM is a good time with rates that make it easy to build different characters with limited free time. PVP constantly has people in it & BG is frequently popping. Events are often & holiday events are detailed & fun. Custom Content is challenging and rewarding. GMs are friendly & easy to reach both ingame/discord. The Economy is the most incredibly stable I have ever seen on any server and the cash shop is fair & balanced. The best word to describe Nova imho is Polished.

Content wise the server is up-to-date with regular patches and fixes. Donation shop is balanced enough that you can reach end game without spending a penny. Plenty of stuff to do with daily, monthly and seasonal events such as summer and Halloween. The community is pretty active on discord or in-game chat although not so much on the forum. WoE is not as active as I might liked but Battlegrounds and PvP scenes are alright. Overall, best renewal server there is, give it a shot.

old iRO player here, got dragged here by my GF; I generally hated trying pservs in the past, but Nova's been pretty decent. Exp boosted enough that it's not utterly mindless grinding, but still a challenge to get cards and gear. I don't know anything about guild comp since I haven't maxed a char yet, and in pvm, MOST builds are viable. AR is really bad and barely has effect. RE: cash shop... it's on par with iROs, and that's all I'm gonna say about it.

NovaRO is a pretty fun server to play, the rates along with some missions bring the right balance between time spent leveling and time spent doing what you want to. The server barely ever has downtime, with most updates not taking too long to be done on the server or downloaded. The admins are pretty nice, despite what some people may say, I have never felt disrespected or looked down upon, and when online, they respond pretty quickly Overall a great server, come in and have some fun!

Where do all those "it's balanced" people come from? What's going on is the opposite of balance. Class balance is a big joke, many builds are worthless everywhere while others are overpowered. Choices of equipment are very narrow so you're pigeonholed into "meta". PvM is absolutely laughable, almost everything is soloable and poses no threat. Leveling is high-rate fast. Donations are far from balanced with enriched ores at 1$ a pop. Join only for socializing, there isn't much of a game left.
